Egret Tax & Business Services keeps the books, builds the tax plan, and stands between you and the tax agencies — accounting, compliance, advisory, and resolution, handled start to finish for Sacramento business owners and families.
My name is Nathan Thomas and I’m a partner at Egret Tax & Business Services here in Sacramento. I want to share a few concerns we hear often from families and small business owners.
If any of these hit home, we can help.
We’re the same firm that keeps your books, plans your taxes, files the return, and handles the IRS and the FTB. That means numbers you can rely on, planning that actually changes what you owe, and someone who already knows your situation when a notice arrives.

We are thorough, honest, communicative, and we take the time to understand your situation. When we spot a problem or an opportunity, we tell you right away.
We handle your accounting, tax, and advisory under one roof, so nothing falls through the cracks between providers. One team that knows your whole picture means fewer surprises and better decisions.
Yes. Every situation is different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. We take the time to understand your business, income, and goals, then look for every legitimate way to lower your tax bill.
That can include:
We plan year-round, not just at tax time, and we’ll only recommend what makes sense for you.
You’re not alone, and it can be fixed. We help clients get caught up with both the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board.
Our process:
Notices have deadlines, and penalties and interest grow over time. The sooner you reach out, the more options you usually have.
Once you’re caught up, we help you stay that way with ongoing bookkeeping, tax planning, and on-time filing. We fix it, then we stay.
We are based in Sacramento and work with clients across the country. Meetings are by phone or video, and documents are exchanged securely online.
Every engagement is quoted up front based on the work involved: entity type, transaction volume, number of returns, and the services you need. You’ll know the price before we start. See our service pages for typical price ranges.
Tax preparation and other one-time compliance work is paid in full before we begin. Ongoing bookkeeping and advisory services are billed as a flat monthly fee, so there are no surprise invoices. If we find something outside the original scope, we’ll talk with you before doing any additional work.
To get a quote, schedule a consultation and we’ll review your situation together.
Book a free discovery call. We will get to know your situation and present you with options and pricing.
In some cases, we may ask to review ledgers, tax transcripts, and other financial information in order to give you a quote.
If you would like to move forward with us, we will send you an engagement letter and collect payment. Our onboarding process is simple and secure, see our onboarding process.
Tell us a little about your situation and we’ll tell you how we can help. New clients usually start with a short call.
